People ask me how much internet marketers earn, and I always answer, “It depends” which is a bit evasive but it really is the only fair answer. It isn’t my way to leave my audiences hanging so I typically make sure to give a little more of an answer than that. My answer varies, mind you, but it typically goes something like this.

How Much DO Internet Marketers Earn?
Internet Marketers Come in Many Shapes and Sizes
First off there are a LOT of internet marketers. I usually explain that this means two things:
- Internet Marketing is popular
- People doing Internet Marketing are making money at it
It is nearly impossible to NOT make money as an internet marketer. Setting up websites has gotten so easy today by means of blogging or what I like to call “marketing programs in a can” that anyone who actually goes through the process of putting up one of these sites will earn something. No one who builds one of these sites will earn enough to retire on – as there aren’t too many of those around. On the other hand… there are millions, if not billions, of little earner sites on the web.
What Is the Answer to the Question about How Much Do Internet Marketers Earn?
The answer to the question, “How much do internet marketers earn?” then becomes a matter of how many of the “little earner sites” that individual web marketer owns. The more pages, posts, blogs, ads, sites, etc., an internet marketer has on the web, the bigger piece of the internet marketing pie they will earn as a result. An internet marketer with a small number of pages, posts, etc., will have a small amount of earnings. The more a person wants to earn on the web, the more web pages they need on the web earning money.

The Beauty of Putting Content on the Web
The beauty of putting content on the web on your own websites is that IT NEVER GOES AWAY. Google may forget about it, but as long as people have a link back to your content page from somewhere, then people can read your page, click on your links, and earn you money. Each time you put a page up on the web, your net worth increases just a little bit. Want a higher net worth? Add more pages. Add more links from other sites back to your pages. The beauty of it is that anyone can put content on the web. Some people specialize in using free content sites.
This May Sound Overly Simplified…
Yeah, this has got to sound overly simplified but the math argues otherwise. If you have a web page out on the web and it earns $5/month, how many pages would you have to have on the web to make $500 / month if each earned the same amount of money as the first? Yeah, you guessed it, 100 pages. The math on figuring how much do internet marketers earn is really that simple. By and large the people with the most pages make the most money.
It Gets Even Better – New Content Always Gets a ‘Boost’ from Google
You read that right. New content gets preferential treatment from search engine giant Google. Build your content the right way and Google rewards you with traffic, and in internet marketing lingo traffic = earnings. Google spiders crawl through the web looking for the latest content, and when they find it the content gets analyzed and indexed. Once indexed the only way to judge a content’s value is to determine how it performs relative to known benchmarks. Google makes this analysis by giving the new content a high ranking initially in order to test it. If the new content does better than previous content, it is kept high. If not, it gets demoted or moved around.
The important takeaway point is that new content gets, “a chance” whereas in virtually ever other business model known to mankind the “establishment” always has the upper hand. Whatever you choose to do with your online presence, I hope you give internet marketing a try. There is nothing more exciting than earning your first dollar online.
